Authors - Alice Walker Questions

Question #1:

What figurative language terms does Alice Walker use in the poem "Women"?

ok here's the poem:

They were women then
My mama's generation
Husky of voice--stout of
Step
With fists as well as
Hands
How they battered down
Doors
And ironed
Starched white
Shirts
How they led
Armies
Headragged generals
Across mined
Fields
Booby-trapped
Ditches
To discover books
Desks
A place for us
How they knew what we
Must know
Without knowing a page
Of it
Themselves.

Question #2:

Could someone PLEASE help me reword this? Please!?

he title of Everyday Use by Alice Walker carries several meanings apart from being a convenient beginning. In fact, many of the those most important themes of the story are highlighted by the issue of how things are used on an everyday basis. For example, the most obvious issues surrounding the everyday use of items and the disagreements around them is that of the quilts. For Dee / Wangero the quilts should not be actually used for warmth, but their everyday use is wrapped up in presenting a cultural or historical ideal—it is something to show off. The issue of everyday use also extends to other matters, such as the usefulness of reading, considering race and class, among others. For this essay, spend one paragraph on different examples of the duality of usefulness. Look at how Dee / Wangero thinks something should be used versus how her mother and sister might. For your conclusion, reflect on why there might be different ideas on usefulness

I know it may seem childish, but I am in a rush. Thanks

Question #3:

Does the "Ochoma" exist?

In her novel "Possessing the Secret of Joy", Alice Walker describes a mythological African bird called the "Ochoma" that cries when friends part ways. I'm very interested in mythological creatures and I can't seem to find any information on it on the internet. In the back of the novel, Walker admits to fictionalizing many things such as languages, tribal names, locations, etc, so it's possible that the Ochoma doesn't exist. Any thoughts anyone?

Question #17:

What do you think of my friend's family's names?

My friend Uri has a big family, consisting of:

-1&2- Mary Christina (mother) & Noah Easton (father)
-3&4- Honor Mary & Haven Noah (G/B twins - 19)
-5- Uriel Walker [Uri] (himself, 16)
-6&7- Eleanor Grace & Liliana Rose (G/G twins - 12, adopted)
-8&9- Bishop Carson & South Isabelle (B/G twins - 10)
-10- Jesse Abram [J] (B - 8)
-11&12- Madison Ava [Madi] & Makenna Alice [Kenna] (G/G twins - 5, adopted)
-13- Zachaeus Lock [Zac] (B - 3)
-14&15- Elisabeth Harlow [Beth] & Jolie Ember (G/G twins - newborn, adopted)

I personally think the names are unique (sometimes weirdly so) but sweet at the same time. Surprisingly, none of them (even Bishop & South) get teased about their names.
It's not unusual for a person to naturally give birth to 2 sets of twins.

The other 3 sets of twins are adopted. I don't understand why this is so hard to believe.
