Quick draft on Sal Dali. Very cheesy essay. Please look over it if you find any mistakes- which I'm sure will be the case.
appreciate it very much :)
A mí unas veces me sorprenden.
NOT DONE.. needs to be elaborated more tho..
I've decided to talk about Surrealism in Greece which includes poets and artists like Embirikos, Engonoloboulos. However, I haven't got enough information on the topic and media technology is required.
In my humble opinion Surrealism as a movement did not glamorize drugs however many artists were inspired through drug intoxication.
A quote from Andre Breton, the founder of Surrealism, "Surrealism is the intoxication".
What do you think? Could i write a 2000word essay based on that quote? My books are inadequate. I need literary books on Surrealism and I'm struggling to find them coz it's all books on surrealist art and a definition of individual artistic pieces
Advice, direction would be gratefull

I was scalping Andre Breton
For money and intel
When I woke in an angry river
Clawing for dear life
On a limb
Called Obtuse
And I couldn't see it
It spoke to me
In a snapping of twigs
It said 'I have a family'
It said
'Eliot is Obtuse
And so are Irish Catholics
In their own way'
Obtuse paused, as if to rest
Then cracked a final wooden phrase
'And never forget it
The mirage
is
Obtuse--
it hides
the sand'
I nodded
Slackened grip
Back
Into angry current
And melted
I was scalping Andre Breton
For money and intel

Clawing for dear life
On a limb

Then cracked a final wooden phrase

I nodded wordless
Slackened grip
Back
Into angry current
And melted

"The simplest Surrealist act consists of dashing down into the street, pistol in hand, and firing blindly, as fast as you can pull the trigger, into the crowd."
What do you think this quote means in terms of performance art, political statement and reality/metaphysical?
I'm doing a project on surrealism, and I'm not having trouble finding the names of artists, but I only need to do three or four in my presentation and I can't figure out which are the most important ones.
I was going to do Dali, Magritte, maybe Andre Breton (because he founded the movement) and then one or two more.
possibilities might be Joan Miro, Max Ernst, Giorgio de Chirico, Man Ray... etc, or any of a dozen others.
please help if you know anything about art history or surrealism.
Thanks so much!
The French surrealist author André Breton wrote a novel in 1928 titled "Nadja."
I was just curious, how would Nadja be pronounced in French? I am woefully ignorant of the French pronunciation of the letter J.
I want to know what number Fleury wore while playing for Cape Breton. Also, does anyone know where I can get a Cape Breton hockey jersey with his name/number on it? Thanks! :)
To those that haven't read "Nadja" by André Breton, read it.
To those that have, how would you take the words of Nadja? Are they the wanton ramblings of a deranged mental patient? Or are they just the words of a surrealist writer - devoid of logical thought, yet sane?
This is both a survey question and a comments question - I am doing research on this book and would appreciate any input.
