Kurt and I moved to the Denton, Texas area in the fall of 2003. In 2004, we found out about Scarborough faire, the closest Renaissance faire to us. We had been to the Texas RenFest for several years and really enjoyed it. We decided we'd like to go. Unfortunately it was past the time of the faire for 2004 so we thought we'd go in 2005.
Since I became pregnant that Summer and Kat was born in January of 2005, we just never managed to make it to Scarborough Faire that year - or in 2006 when I was pregnant with Matthew. Somehow, we never made it in 2007 or 2008 either.
However, when I heard that Fantasy writer Peter S. Beagle was going to be at Scarborough Faire, I told Kurt I didn't care if I was dying, I was going to go.
Peter S. Beagle is one of my favourite authors. If you are not familiar with his name, you may be familiar with his book "A Fine and Private Place". If that isn't familiar to you, then perhaps his most famous creation will be: "The Last Unicorn". He wrote the book as well as worked on the screenplay for the animated movie.

Yes, I actually allowed someone to take a picture of me! This is me with author Peter S. Beagle, who penned "The Last Unicorn".
Mr. Beagle was extremely pleasant and very sweet. I wish I had more time to spend with him. His business manager and friend, Connor Cochran, was also a very pleasant person. I've had the privilege of speaking with Mr. Cochran on the phone and it was nice to put a face to the name.
