My purchases arrived from fishpond a couple of days ago. Even with postage, cheaper than the only store in Wellington that had these on the shelves.

October 2009: 2 short novels (The Value of X and D*U*C*K) of love and cooking in (and around) New Orleans. We love this series and are really happy to be sending this book out there to more readers.

Lost Souls inscription

Inscription to me from Poppy Z. Brite in my copy of Lost Souls. I'm re-reading it 15 years on. And while I am digging it, it doesn't hold with me at 33 the way it did at 18.

Thats a long way of saying I'm old

Antediluvian Tales by Poppy Z. Brite
published by Subterranean Press this fall.

i am over the moon.
i have been reading her books for near 13 years.
the old characters are like old friends.
the new characters like the people i knew pre-Katrina.

i am honoured.

many books! my favourites are pointed out in the Notes :) and there's a wee stack of books by my bed too, which aren't here, and anna probably has two or three in her room. I tend to sell off books when I move, but some I keep with me all the time.
