11/21/2009 05:40 PM Southern Puget Sound, Wa. State. Looking east in the early morning from the back deck of our Aerie. It was a morning of Lenticular clouds over Mt. Tahoma (Rainier) which can get to look like very spacey UFO's trying to land on the mountain itself. This little patch of sky is like having magnificent kinetic art through my office window...or out on the deck...never the same, always moving sky.
Day spent chopping, dragging, burning wood! All for the sake of the little areas of wetland and a tiny fern a few inches tall called Ophioglossum vulgatum and the odd marsh orchid which risks to be overgrown by the pines. Organised by the Parc naturel régional du Verdon.

An armadillo that we are caring for at the Wildlife Center of Missouri. He was hit by a car and has broken bones but he is energetic, alert, and has a good appetite.
