Answer #6:
FLASH BABY by Veronica Schreiber
it's a total page-turner. it's very raw, dark book but hilarious at the same time. One review of it said it would make you laugh and cringe at the same time!So true!
Flash Baby is about a girl, Eliza who comes from a horrible family (her father gambled her off) and she dreams of escaping her family and the rundown neighborhood that she lives in. Then the book is also about a boy Chris who comes from a rich family who lives in the suburbs and will one day inherit his father's cardboard box factory. Chris loves to drink, party and has a big gambling problem.
And one day Chris and Eliza meet; definitely unfortunate for Eliza but for Chris it's the best thing that's ever happened to him.

Answer #14:
if ur into magic and stuff try midnight magic by avi.its not very long but it isn't a child's book either.if u haven't read the twilight saga yet u should i thought it would be ridiculous with the entire vampire thing but my friends convinced me to read them and i loved it. and if u do read the series and are thirsty for more vampires try Into the forests of the night by Amelia Atwatter Rhodes.
Answer #15:
I am Charlotte Simmons by Tom Wolfe
its basically about a girl who's from some backwoods town and leaves to go to university. It deals with the temptation of certain aspects of college and how she deals and changes with them.
i read it before i went off to university, its a really interesting book. It's sounds corny but it's definitely not a fluffy novel
Answer #16:
Umm.. if you're looking for books that involve stuff like child abuse and real upsetting stuff then I can suggest:
Street Kid - Judy Westwater (best one I've read - cried all the way through it!)
A Child Called 'it' - David Pelzer
Ugly - Constance Briscoe
Daddy's Little Girl - Julia Latchem-Smith
:)
If you want to find pretty cheaps books that're pretty good then I'd suggest secondhand bookstores or The Works (if there's still one near you!) :)
Answer #17:
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin
