F. Scott Fitzgerald was an American novelist and short story writer who is considered one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. He is best known for his novels The Great Gatsby and Tender Is the Night, both of which explore the excesses and decadence of the Jazz Age. Fitzgerald's writing is known for its lush, lyrical prose and its portrayal of the disillusionment and excess of the post-World War I era. In addition to his novels, Fitzgerald wrote many short stories, which were published in magazines during his lifetime and later collected in books. His work has had a lasting impact on American literature and continues to be read and studied today.
