i seek, i long by Lake e. Lou
i seek, i long
for Lily
before the rise & descent
of countless moons
i would cradle your head
between my thighs
your hands would
catch mine
& our fingers would
dance together
our eyes glowed
our lips touched
& pulsed like fire
your tongue flickered
in my mouth
small red flame
so hungry
your warmth
searing my lips
you would press into me
till i knew your heartbeat as my own
& our legs would twine
& we would fall back
& learn the dark anew
now you run & hide
within the bodies of others
glancing out from beneath
the pain of their cold caresses
to see if i have followed
i fear to touch you now
as you cower in the corner
as if my touch were a knife
slicing at you
rending you to strips
of bleeding flesh
no, this was not me
this was another
& you cannot trace his form
over mine
i had nothing but tender caresses
for you
& rose wine kisses
seeking no lips but yours
