arcanum of memories by Lake e. Lou
arcanum of memories
the pulsing of frozen wings
in the sulfurous sky
constellations of yellow moths
over black steeples, steel cisterns
over the dead city
the drunken chant
of metal wheels churning
against the skeleton curve
of train tracks
howling through dark tunnels
hectic arabesques of graffiti
slurred across the walls
the violent requiem
scythes of moonlight
revolving off rooftops,
factories
holy ghosts of the crossroads
straggled across the night
cavernous warehouses
crouched on the eroded fields
like clumsy dragons,
rickety,
swollen with rust
the lonely whistle calls
come away
come away
