  1. Michael L Says:

    I have seen roses damask’d, red and white,
    But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
    And in some perfumes is there more delight
    Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
    I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
    That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
    I grant I never saw a goddess go;
    My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.
    And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
    As any she belied with false compare.

    Something a bit different.

    Almost any of Shakespeare’s sonnets would work.

    Here’s a website with all of them:

    Love poems?

    P B Shelley’s ‘Love’s Philosophy’ is a good one……..
    Then another poem called ‘Indian Serenade’

    Then,
    Robert Burns’………”My Love is Like a red red Rose”

    Elizabeth Barrett browning’s ‘How Do I Love Thee’

    ERAT HORA

    “Thank you, whatever comes.” And then she turned
    And, as the ray of sun on hanging flowers
    Fades when the wind hath lifted them aside,
    Went swiftly from me. Nay, whatever comes
    One hour was sunlit and the most high gods
    May not make boast of any better thing
    Than to have watched that hour as it passed. (from Selected Poems, New Directions,

    This is my favorite and I think it might work well if you have to make a poster. Great imagery
