What kind of picture or illustration would make a good front cover for a romance / poetry book for the Cd case?
i was thinkin g to go with the character or theme of the book and use an elemrald sea and a sunset or twilight picture with a dove and a tree on the hill overlooking the ocean any other ideas?|

most software programs have clip art that might suit your purposes and a template to print out the labels and stuff for CD and DVDs…. I purchased blank CD labels and they came with the software to print them…

not bad, but sounds like the cover of my classical music cds, try something different. rainbows, moonbeams, sunsets, birds, flowers, clouds, all over done. try something along the lines of an Ansel Adams type black & white photo. something serene or not, contact your local high school or comunity college, see if a teacher could run a small contest for you, get some new stuff from new viewpoints. offer a small cash prize, $25 – $100, maybe it could be a class project for those who are interested, tell them what it’s for, it could end up selling and they get the exposure.

Your ideas sound great… how many are you requiring?
Many small commercial printers would be able to help you, right from design to print, as well as cut and fold. Ready to slip into a joule case.

The key questions to ask when approaching the print place are:
if they have in house design?
is it possible to consult with the designer personally to share ideas for the design you have in mind?
do they have in house production and bindery?

The print place/digital design house will need to know the amount of CD covers you require, if it is over 1000 and 4 colours or less, ask if they can do a digital and a press quote based on your design ideas. Get a quote before the designer gets started on the job, and if possible get 3-4 quote from different companies in your area. If it is a digital design house that has the finished product run at another company the price will be higher due to brokerage fees etc. So try to aim for the companies that have in house design, production and bindery.
