Love Poetry

They keep deleting my account, even though, and I know that it may be hard to understand, I love them. They touched me, sometimes privately, and sometimes, just on the internet. But, I have to have some place to go, where irreverance and lust for life have a meaning outside of “coke or pepsi?” If I write a poem about any subject you come up with, will you accept me into this community?

i wrote a lyric one time
for a girl
named carrie
she, makes it hard
for me to think.
and with her every
twist and turn
i find her
irresistable.
when i was a girl
and my father was a warrior
we , that is my family
stood
up
against
everyone.
some joker in christchurch
wanted to say
something. sounded like hate
but me papa
and me mum
protect me from
someone
we see on tv
maybe just an arab
or a repulican
or a pope
who shows their hate
and never sees
that we are all
just animals
well, at least us libras

springtime meant more for me
than some of my friends
i had to study
i watched bobby
who i had a crush on
play with linda
who i hated
and wished that i
were so young

so i talk with jesus
at least him i
can understand
he is magnificent
compared to bobby
i go to church
and wait for god
to talk with me
because
I have a lot to say
back

wonder

I often sit and wonder, what I ought to do,
The love and lust I feel, powerful for you.
My life before I met you, I was lost and beat
A love like ours so perfect, simple, yet unique.

It’s so clean and pure, like a newborn child,
Way deep down inside , So mellow and so mild.
Your lips call out to find me, and to cry my name,
My lips respond in kind, you know I feel the same.

When we recite our sacred holy vows,
How I got so lucky, God himself knows how.
The day you finally look up, deep into my eyes,
There’s no drug on earth, could get me quite that high.

The love we make together, the future and today,
To express myself, total love, there is no other way.
In poetry I find, a perfect kind of bliss,
Really like describing, the perfect lasting kiss.

Our lives begin today, with just you and me,
With God’s help, in nine months, we will then be three.
My love for you it overflows,it’s by some design,
My heart and yours together, until the end of time.

So I’m looking for poems to have recited at my wedding. I’m a HUGE Edgar Allen Poe fan- (before you go Oh my God that is so morbid to have Poe read at your wedding- read it first)

Thou wouldst be loved?— then let thy heart
From its present pathway part not!
Being everything which now thou art,
Be nothing which thou art not.
So with the world thy gentle ways,
Thy grace, thy more than beauty,
Shall be an endless theme of praise,
And love- a simple duty.

So, I’m most defintely going to use this one, does anyone have any suggestions for others? Doesn’t have to be Poe.
