How To Write A Passionate Love Letter

One of the most romantic, creative and inexpensive gifts you can give your partner this Valentine’s Day is a heartfelt love letter, written from the bottom of your heart! It is often said that Language is the poetry of the soul. When you wish to speak of your love for that one special person, what other better way to do so than by speaking out your heart on perfumed paper, and sealed with a kiss? You don’t need to be a poet or author to write a romantic love letter.

Sometimes sent in the mail, and increasingly by electronic mail, the letter may be anything from a short and simple message of love to a lengthy explanation of feelings. One would use pigeons for the purpose, or simply send it through a trusted friend. Today too, a love letter is rated as one of the topmost ways of saying I Love You.

This may allow feelings to be more easily expressed than if the writer were in the beloved’s presence. Your mate will be grateful that you took the time to express yourself for no special reason. Your beloved will be so touched that you put in the extra effort to create something they could proudly display on the wall.

Some Tips For Love Letter Writing:

- Don’t make promises you can’t keep and don’t write anything you may regret later.

- Never write an anonymous letter.

- It won’t matter to your lover if your letter love writing skills are not up to par; he/she will see the thought.

- Think about why you’re writing. Do you want to say you had a good time, are you asking for a date, are you expressing your affection, do you want to know how they feel about you or do you want to say I miss you?

- If you are handwriting the letter, use a very dark ink and be certain to have a few extra pieces of paper on hand.

- End the love letter by saying that you hope to be able to have the opportunity to ‘bump’ into her again.

- Use a thesaurus to find unique words for your love letter, such as:

- An unfettered love letter scented with a fragrance you know him to enjoy, peeking out a pair of lacy undies it and left next to his pillow will have his mind reeling with possibilities.

- Be in a good mood when writing a love letter.

- One word of caution, avoid any attributes which can be interpreted as sexual in nature.

Things To Consider In Writing:

- Make An Offer She Cannot Refuse - Offer to do something that you know will make her really, really happy.

- Overcoming Writer’s Block - For most people, the difficulty in letter-writing is the start and the close.

- Collect Your Thoughts - Take some time to think about what you want to say before you start writing.

- Surprise Your Partner - Surprise your partner by sharing something very intimate with her, that maybe you didn’t express in the past.

E HAD THOUGHT I HOPED TOO MUCH

Maybe some had thought I hoped too much

And dreamed a dream that never would come true,

Reasoning from what they saw and such

Trends as might confirm their points of view.

In dreams, however, one creates what is –

Not from what one sees but what one wills:

Like light, from the Lord’s dream sprung, now All, as His

Undying Word the void unending fills.

Then look! Look! What miracles occur!

Here we have a black man judged upon –

Exactly as I dreamed – his character,

Regardless of his skin! And he has won!

Know, then, that the dream for which I fought

In time became the ground for what I sought.

New realities require dreams

Given to us not as ends but means.

YOU ARE MY HEART, MY HOPE, MY HELP

You are my heart, my hope, my help,

The passion that is me,

The whole of which I am a part,

My peace, my ecstasy.

You are my future, present, past,

My ship, my sail, my ocean,

The wind that brings me home again,

The home for every motion.

You live within me, yet I am

Without you all alone.

With you I am full of light;

Without you I am stone.

Is this foolish? Yes, perhaps,

But also it is true.

I think of life as something I

Can spend with only you.

Ah, my love! Love longs for such

Sweet celebrants as this!

Love is a burden and a joy,

Slavery and bliss.

This day of love come love with me,

Come sing with me my song.

Come be my Valentine, and I

Will love you my life long, my love,

Will love you my life long.

I NEVER THOUGHT I’D FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU

I never thought I’d fall in love with you.

I thought someday, of course, I’d fall in love.

But what it felt like, I just never knew;

I’d no idea what I was thinking of.

And then, somewhere between my need and pleasure,

Walking neither overjoyed nor sad,

I looked into my heart and saw a treasure

Worth more than anything I’d ever had.

Ah! This is love! I thought. And then I wanted

To give my life to see your happiness.

Suddenly, from nowhere, I was haunted,

Needy, joyful, tearful, glad, obsessed.

My love for you has brought me out of me.

The beauty in your heart has set me free.

I WANT YOU BACK NOW THAT YOU’RE GONE

I want you back now that you’re gone.

My heart’s a pit no love can fill.

I stumble through my days of stone

Bereft of joy, bereft of will.

I could not tell myself I loved

You as I did for fear of pain.

Far easier not to be moved,

Than moved to love, and hurt again.

How stupid! I loved anyway,

And now the blame is all my own.

Please rescue me, this torture stay,

And for my sin I will atone.

FIE ON THESE EARTHLINGS

Fie on these earthlings, who think equal

Is the same! Illogical. I’m

Fifteen, will never be their dreams,

Though they paint me into nightmares.

Eat a whole stackpack and die! Even

E.T. would think twice about home!

No! I’m equal–but not at all the same!

MARGARITA

Margarita is an angel,

Awakening as life recedes,

Riding high the Lenten light.

Grace abounds both day and night,

Alive in those who know their needs,

Restoring joy to those who tremble.

In death she dons the angel’s mantle,

Touching love that weeps and bleeds,

As in life she found delight.

REMY

Remy loves to let me know it’s morning.

Each dawn she cuffs my cheek till I’m awake.

Mid-dream I tumble upwards for her sake,

Yet find her not long after curled up yawning.

THE POINT IS JUST THAT I DON’T SEE THE POINT

The point is just that I don’t see the point:

However much one wants to be turned on,

Ecstasy can put things out of joint;

Yearning is for what will soon be gone.

Each can choose content or discontent;

All are happy, if they would be so.

Revelation isn’t Heaven sent;

Out of what you are comes what you know.

Forget, then, the pursuit of the sublime.

There is no thing that’s needed – all is here.

Happiness will settle in, in time,

Enduring, though the weather may turn drear.

One must plod to plow, and plow to plant.

X marks the heart, where lies all one could want.

A VALENTINE IS NOTHING LIKE

A Valentine is nothing like

A chocolate or a rose.

For in a week these shall be gone,

But Valentines remain.

If love were always sweet to tongue

Or fragrant to the nose,

Each day would be like Valentine’s,

And we would go insane.

A Valentine just hangs around

Waiting to be kissed

Long after special days have passed

And every days are here.

So one is wise to choose one well

And chocolates to resist.

For in the midst of mania

It’s nice to have one near.

LOVE IS NEVER EASY

Love is never easy, but

It turns life into song.

There is no bit of circumstance

That love cannot transform.

There is no weary moment

Of anger or despair

That love cannot convert to grace

And render whole and fair.

How passionate the paradise

That comes from knowing well

That someone in your happiness

Finds pleasure for himself.

How sweet the gift of giving to

Someone who gives to you,

A selflessness that gives to self

More self than self is due.

With all the searing madness of

The world from day to day,

And all the dreary sadness that

No joy can take away,

There is one truth more beautiful

Than anyone can bear:

That two can trust that when they turn

They’ll find the other there.

YOU HAD ME FOR A NIGHT, THEN TURNED AWAY

You had me for a night, then turned away,

Inspiring a love you didn’t want.

I was a fairy you might unenchant

To show yourself that you could have your way.

And now I’m left with all the shame of love

That unashamed took pleasure in your joy.

You used me as a fake, erotic toy,

Not caring much what I was thinking of.

The worst is that I long for your caress.

I know you’re just annoyed, which drives me mad!

But knowing how completely I’ve been had

Does not, alas, make me want you less.

ONE NIGHT I SAW AARON

One night I saw Aaron,

The next he was dead.

Now I can’t remember

The last thing he said.

There is no reason,

No reason at all,

Why this one last thing

I need to recall.

The last night I saw him,

He, Mark, and I,

I had no idea

He was going to die.

It was just the usual

Basketball game,

Joking and cheering,

All just the same.

The Earth should have screamed,

Some song should have played,

Some mark should have told us,

All gross and decayed.

But the game simply ended

And we left the gym.

And that was the last

I’ll see of him.

LEST YOU LEAVE YOUR OPTIONS IN THE SUNSHINE

Lest you leave your options in the sunshine

Unprotected from night’s bitter shade,

Now you may take them on the lunar wind,

Alive to phantoms vivid as your face

Reveling in front of reason’s door.

Nor could your own inventions offer more,

Even those transfigured from your race,

Which, privatized, seem downsized, somehow thinned.

Yet here is all the wealth the past has made,

Each relic dipped in age-old vintage wine,

A treasure-trove of comedy and grace

Resting where your faith must go forth blind.

COULD I BUT GIVE YOU COMFORT IN MY DEATH

Could I but give you comfort in my death,

How might I tell you what you meant to me?

All I did, both night and day, was love you,

Rulers of my kingdom and my heart.

Like gods, at last you claimed my painful breath,

Opening the door to mystery,

The final gift of all the gifts you gave me,

Taking what I could no longer give you

Even if I tried with all my art.

How To Write Valentine Cards Poems

tine cards poems are used to make the moment of love feel extra special. Poems of love that are from the heart will make anyone’s knees very weak with affection. For this reason, when you have a good opportunity to write a good love poem, it is probably wise to look for those words that are heartfelt and sincere. Valentine cards poems should be just right. In other words, they should be very thoughtful. The day of lovers is one that is different from the rest and, the least you can do is to recognize the special day. Among many other things, writing poems can dramatically change your relationship and make it a hub of love. Love in a relationship must be built and this is to say that the little things we do play a major role in creating a strong union. Therefore I cannot insist enough on the need to create a strong bond through gestures like poems; especially on Valentine’s Day.

Valentine cards poems come in different designs and shapes. However, the most important aspect in them is the kind of poems they have. Valentine cards poems need to be very well thought of. This is not to say that they need to be perfect. Further from the truth, it is not possible to write a perfect poem but, you can do your very best which is good enough. Many people shiver at the thought of writing a poem for the people they love. Many fear that they might not do a very good job in this regard. Others are just not willing to go that extra mile when it comes to strengthening their relationships. However, when you are ready to give anything for love, you will be of the mind set that good poetic words are worth it. If you have never done it before, there is always a first time and you might be just a poem away from happiness in your relationship.

To write excellent Valentine cards poems, you need to do several things. First, you need to be willing to please your partner. All lovers who love each other want to please each other. The other step is to have some confidence. Be sure of what you will express in your poem. Then, look for great ideas of poems to inspire you. When your words are sincere, there is no doubt that you will enhance your relationship in this regard. Poems are all over and, when you are not able to find those special poetic words, you can copy a great poem and communicate your message in words that are already written. However, if you take time to look for your very own words, you might come with something that will make a world of difference. Your words need not be perfect; no body is looking for perfection. With confidence, express your love poetically and you will spark more love and affection. Write poems to your lady or man. This is because others think that poems are written just for women. A relationship is built by two people for it to stand; make the special day of love a day worth celebrating.

THE BOND OF LOVE IS NOT DESIRE, BUT NEED

The bond of love is not desire, but need.

Desire fades; need with wisdom grows:

The need to be needed, and the need to need.

But why the need to need when one is freed

By needing less of that which comes and goes?

The bond of love is not desire, but need.

And why need to be needed? Why should one cede

What one might well enjoy for what one owes?

The need to be needed, and the need to need

Are longings of the sower for the seed,

And the seed for the sower, who whistles as he sows.

The bond of love is not desire, but need.

Love is longing, by dint of death decreed,

The beauty and the terror life bestows,

The need to be needed, and the need to need

Embedded in one’s being, as indeed,

Being needs Creation, which it once chose.

The bond of love is not desire, but need:

The need to be needed, and the need to need.

VESTMENTS ARE THE WORDS; THE BODY, FEELING

Vestments are the words; the body, feeling;

As love is clothed in words to fit the fashion,

Letting art romanticize its passion –

Embellishing, soliciting, revealing.

Nor can a truth be true without concealing

The thousand other truths that need attention,

Insisting on at least a passing mention,

Not willing to let go without appealing.

Each love, therefore, shows more by showing less,

‘Neath cloth cut well to hint at subtleties,

Setting off the swaths of naked skin.

Do, then, pay due diligence to dress,

As what one says discovers what one sees,

Yielding to and shaping what’s within.

THERE IS A BEAUTY IN THE COLOR BROWN

There is a beauty in the color brown

Which brings to mind the muted light of caring.

Earth tones: roots, ground leafmeal, seeds, and soil;

Nuts and bark, broad rivers thick with toil;

Tree trunks in a clearing, nothing wearing,

Yet holding high their single woven crown.

For me brown brings to mind your caring eyes,

Innocent and gentle as a doe’s.

Vested in your love, my own love grows;

Each thought, each hope, each breath within you lies.

DAVID

David is a person much belovéd:

A sweet and gentle spirit, inward bound.

Viewing David’s agonies uncovered,

Immolations fifty years have smothered,

Doesn’t help one know why he has drowned.

MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS OUGHT TO BE FRIENDS

Mothers and daughters ought to be friends,

But there is a lot that gets in the way.

The determined pursuit of opposite ends,

Ends up as harsh words we would rather not say.

Yet storms tend to pass, and passions abate,

And love to outlast the days of despair,

And comfort to come to those who would wait,

And friendships to flourish in those who forbear.

So we must be patient, and fight, if we must,

With the knowledge that love will endure what we do.

The anger is wind, and the angels are dust,

But love will be waiting whenever we’re through.

FAITH

Faith finds within her heart a windy sea,

A restless place of homeless, hopeless peace

In which there’s neither passion nor release,

The changeless void whose changes never cease,

Having wrought this unwilled will to be.

SHADOW

Shadow is my ever-present shadow,

Having little in her life but me.

Affection is in her a true vocation,

Destined as she is for a relation

Of which love is both salvager and sea,

Windswept world and oft-recited credo.
