Both conventions will be held in August; Star Trek in Las Vegas and Star Wars in Orlando, Florida, and I'm attending both.

some kind of "aboriginal inter-dimensional space dreamtime technology". putting people through 'magical initiations' face to face and then 'telepathically' that over time resulted in experiences so extreme to cause total loss of impulse control, amnesia, catatonic schizophrenia and even cerebral hemorrhages. i'm sure the 'Q' continuum part is a lie, but some people will fall for anything. has anyone heard of any rumours about this sort of thing happening? people have any funny experiences with 'magical' groups in australia?

I have always wondered this question each time I play sci - fiction games like Mass Effect , Star Wars Star Trek etc.. We are all merely human when it comes down to it. So if society were to change years from now and we lived with aliens. Would racism stop? Or would we then just hate aliens?

I mean I understand the whole background to the Trill race but in Star Trek Online, they are two different races that you can choose from when you make characters. Although they are the same race, are there different stats between the two? I know that Trill can be chosen for free, but Joined Trill are a premium race.

Ok, not really a question yet. I'm doing a speech tomorrow on the cultural influence of Star Trek (yep, I'm THAT kind of nerd). Anyway, I'm covering a little bit of how it brought science into everyone's living room, how it was culturally diverse in a time when racism and racist crimes were all over the news, and how it inspired a few specific new technologies. I've got the speech part down, and I've got a pretty good poster going on (yeah, poster for a college speech, I feel like I'm 11 again), but I can't think of a good title, so I could really use some suggestions.

I'm a huge fan of the popular franchise, Star Wars, but I've never known where to start to watch either of these shows... any ideas what the best shows would be to get my started? in star trek voyager, they sometimes are short on food supplies, and have to find m class planets to replenish them. but they can also make it with the replicators. if food supplies are short, why not replenish them with replicators? i am new to star trek and dont know all the backstory about everything. is their use limited? whats up?

If the warp-drive on Federation starships effectively folds space to get to a place hundreds or perhaps thousands of light-years away, how is it that the computer can 'see' that far ahead and ensure that they are never going to fly through, say, a passing meteor or a piece of space debris? E.g. how does a Federation starship leaving Earth effectively warp-drive through both the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt without hitting anything, let alone pass through the far reaches of deep space?

There is a Star Trek episode, back in the late 60's where the Enterprise is almost destroyed by what turns out to be a little white colored dwarf-boy in charge of a ship. The image the enterprise gets is of a stern looking alien man who looks like he has an oval mouth, but when the crisis is resolved and they find out who is behind it all they see this sweet little man. What is the name of this episode?

I was curious if anyone had heard anything lately about the status of David Foster's Star Trek project (codenamed S.E.T.I.) I know the last bit of news that came out about it was back in August or September of last year, but nothing new since.

(IN ANY SERIES) Can someone list the names of every episode involving Time Travel or Alternate Time lines?

I'm looking for the A&E edition of Macbeth. My English teacher showed it to us in class once and I can't for the life of me find it! I remember in the finale scene, Macbeth kept shouting out "Macduff! Macduff!" When they come up to each other, they have guns. And they point the guns in each other's faces. They are both talking and arguing back and fourth and as they do, the camera pans (the camera circles around their faces so is that the right term?) around their faces. Then when Macbeth finally pulls the trigger, only to find that the gun is empty, I THINK Macduff pulls his trigger and his gun is empty too! Then they get into a fight and one of them gets their pants pulled, showing his boxers. I think in this version of the movie Macbeth had on a red bandana around his head and it wasn't the new one featuring Star Trek's Patrick Stewart (Picard should've easily taken out Macduff anyway lol). The one starring Stewart came out in 2010. The one I'm describing is the one we saw in 2009.

Star Trek (2009 or whenever) when the Enterprise arrives at Vulcan and sees the fleet in ruins, it passes under a ship hull. After it shows the main screen again, off to the left hand side a clear as can be R2-D2 flies by. Raiders of the Lost Ark: Beside the coffin thing holding the ark are two sets of pictographs on a column or wall. Clearly visible are R2 and c3p0 and ive heard of others.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little over a year. I would like to take him out on a fun, nerdy date. He is into computers, and video games like skyrim and minecraft and shows/movies like Doctor Who and Star Trek. Buffy was way cheaper.   Note that both shows are off the air.  I am asking about new DVDs , sittting on the shelves for years.  Used does apply to this question.  That is why this life long trekker has never bought any star trek DVDs.

It's not sentioned, it's not centioned, but what is it? It means the thing has all the qualities to make up a living, thinking being. The first time I heard it was on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," when Star Fleet held a hearing to determine if Data (an android) was alive, able to make his own decisions, or was he just a robot? Okay, so I've been playing and modding fallout 3 for a year now, I understand load orders, i've tried FOMM load sorter tool, i've tried following some online instructions and it's still crashing on startup. It started when i downloaded FWE Overhaul kit. I installed it and my game started crashing on startup. Unchecked it, crashed. Re-installed the game and all the mods i had for it (Excluding FWE overhaul of course) Still crashing. Deleted two recent suspect mods, (Refuge and Alpha c.e.v) Crash. I know there isnt anything wrong with my game, i unchecked all mods and it worked fine (With FOSE), re checked them it worked for a while, although i didnt have a pip-boy because i forgot to install my readus mod, Activated it, Crash. Deactivated it, Crash. So i'm sure you get the picture. First i want to know if theres any extra files that could be causing this? (Deleted the steam fallout 3 goty file and saves only). Would un-installing the game properly end it? And maybe it's a problem with the load order. So if anyone can tell me if there's a problem with it (It did kind of get randomised when i re-installed all the mods) i would really apreciate it. He and I have been together for a year and a half, but we've been best friends for years. He always get's me amazing gifts, like a pearl necklace from Tiffany's for my birthday, a Burberry cashmere scarf for Christmas. Unfortunately I don't make half as much money as he does, so I can't get him gifts like that. He goes to college pretty far away and he's been really stressed this semester because he's taking 20 credits, so I was thinking about surprising him on Valentines day by visiting him but I'm not 100% sure I can get the time off work... So if I can't what should I do? I've saved up a little sum of money for his gift. But my friends are saying Valentines day isn't a day to buy something but to make something? A little about him: He's a car guy, he drives a mustang that he probably loves more than me haha, and he knows everything about how to keep it running. He's a total genius, he's read just about everything and he's like a walking encyclopedia, he's also a bit of a geek and a little of a gamer (those may be my fault haha, he watches Star Trek now! :D) Anyway, any suggestion would help, thank you:)

I like this one dude, and he and I chat a lot on gmail, and I've liked him for quite a while now... I kinda wanna tell him how I fell, but in a nerdy way... He is quite the nerd (he likes skyrim, star trek, star wars, pokemon, legend of zelda, and is good at math, and so many other things...), and I am also quite the nerd (we like basically all of the same things), and I feel like telling him that I have a crush on him in a nerdy way would be perfect. He is socially awkward in person, like me, but opens up after a while, and he seems to chat to me on gmail whenever he's online.
