Poetry Guide: Iambic Heptameter
Iambic heptameter is a poetic meter that has seven iambic metrical feet per line. The stress of the foot is placed on the first, short syllable, followed by an unstressed longer syllable.
Contrast with iambic pentameter, for instance, which is a meter with five feet per line, and trochaic meter, where the longer syllable precedes the short one.
