Anne Rice was an American author known for her horror and fantasy novels. Born in 1941, Rice began her career writing under the pen name Anne Rampling before adopting her married name. She was best known for her series of books about the vampire Lestat, which include the novels Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. Rice also wrote a number of other horror and fantasy novels, including The Witching Hour, The Mummy, and The Wolf Gift. She continued to write and publish new work until her death in December 2021.
