Donna Tartt is an American author known for her critically acclaimed novels. Born in 1963, Tartt began her career with the publication of her debut novel, The Secret History, in 1992. The novel, which tells the story of a group of privileged students at a small Vermont college who become involved in a murder, was a major bestseller and established Tartt as a rising star in the literary world. She followed this with the novels The Little Friend and The Goldfinch, both of which were also widely praised and became bestsellers. Tartt continues to write and publish new work to this day.
